How to get to Torino

  • By plane - Torino Caselle international airport (15 km from city centre) has regular connections with the major intercontinental and international airports in Europe. Other airports easily reachable are those of Milan (Malpensa and Linate) and Genoa.
  • By train - Torino is linked to all European countries through Milano or Lyon and Nice (France), mostly by direct trains.
  • By bus - Many bus lines connect Torino (and especially Milano) to all European countries.
  • By car - Several motorways connect Torino to the European motorway network through Milano, Zürich, Geneve, Lyon, Nice, and to Central and Southern Italy through Alessandria.

How to get the Chemistry Departments 

Note: The reference point is Torino Porta Nuova railway station (indicated as a green dot in the map below). Please follow the map below to reach the University Guest House, at about 15 min. walking from Torino Porta Nuova railway station.

- Caselle airport has a bus service every 15-40 min to its terminus at Torino Porta Nuova railway station (one-way ticket at airport is about 4.00 Euro) from 06:30 to 23:30 (from terminus to airport, from 05:15 to 22:30), time of transport 45 min.

From MILANO MALPENSA and MILANO LINATE airports - Direct bus from Malpensa airport to Torino leaves at 11:00 every day (one-way ticket is about 20 Euro) and on Sunday and Monday also at 15:00. Bus takes 2 hours to reach the terminal in Torino, in Corso Inghilterra at corner of Corso Vittorio Emanuele. If you miss the bus from Malpensa airport, you have to reach Milano Centrale railway station by bus (regular service every 30 min), and then you have a train for Torino almost every hour. Return bus from Torino to Malpensa airport leaves at 07:15 every day and on Sunday and Monday also at 10:00. From/to Milano Linate airport, you have a bus every 20 min to/from Milano Centrale railway station.

By CAR - Follow the road signs for the city centre until you reach Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Then drive along this avenue in the direction of river Po and hills.

Other useful information

  • City bus tickets must be bought in advance at any tobacconists or newsagents (a single fare is 0.90 Euro).
  • Note that Via Cavour crosses Piazza Cavour (see map below)
  • Via Cavour is a restricted parking area (1.00 Euro/hour from 8:00 to 20:00)
